vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar. Nein, Sie müssen keinem Trend hinterherlaufen.
Ich wünsche jedem Menschen, dass er/sie die individuelle Freiheit spürt, sich hier genauso zu positionieren, wie sie es für richtig halten. Ich mache das mit diesem Artikel.

Über das Thema „Respekt und Höflichkeit im Kulturvergleich“ habe ich 2008 promoviert – damals ein absolutes Rand-Thema. Seit 2004 arbeite ich als Interkulturelle und Diversity Kompetenz Trainerin – auch das, damals alles andere als ein Trend.

Bi-kuturell aufgewachsen habe ich schon früh gelernt, dass kultureller Mindset relativ und nicht absolut ist. Es gibt also nicht „das ist höflich“, oder „respektlos“, sondern immer nur „ich empfinde das als höflich“, oder „respektlos“. Es ist etwas sehr Individuelles und Kulturelles.
